What Is Body Odor?
An abhorrent smell from your body after sweating is called a body odour. When bacteria on skin combine with your sweat, a displeasing smell is released from your body. This smell is pungent and acidic in nature and is biologically termed as bromhidrosis.



What Causes Body Odor
Apocrine glands present in our body are the reason for body odour. These glands are present in the breast area, armpit area, inguen area and ear area. These glands develop when you attain pubescence and produce an acidic secretion which is odour free. When this watery secretion combines with bacteria present on your skin surface, it creates a bad body smell.

Body Odor Treatments
If you have grown up to be a youngster, you are likely to face the problem of body odour. So, follow some basic steps and keep yourself away from it.

Bathe Daily
Bathing is a good habit, we have heard this since childhood. Minimum 10 minutes of bathe maintains your hygiene and keeps you clean. It washes away all the bacteria from your skin and thus keeps you odour free.

Keep Your Armpit Clean
Armpit is a sweat prone part of your body. You must keep your armpits clean in order to avoid body smell. Girls must shave their armpits or use hair removal cream to keep it clean. Washing it daily with soap reduces bacteria and keeps the underarms clean.

Use Bacteria Killing Agent
You get bacteria-killing agents easily in the market. Do not forget to specify that you need it for bathing in order to get a harmless bacteria-killing agent. Apple cider vinegar is one such agent easily available in the market. It helps you by killing bacteria and maintaining the acidity and alkalinity of your skin, thus keeping you odour-free.

Use Baking Soda Or Lemon
Baking soda is highly alkaline and hence, it helps in controlling the PH of your skin. This reduces the acidity of your sweat, thus reducing body smell whereas, lemon is highly acidic. It helps in clearing away all the bacteria from your skin surface, thus helping you avoid body smell.

Use Deodorants
Deodorants help you by making the surface of your armpits highly acidic, thus clearing away the bacterias. The fragrance in does helps in making you smell sweet and fresh.



Underarm Odor- Herbal Treatment

Witch Hazel Leaves
Pluck off few leaves of witch hazel plant, let them dry. Crush them and put it into the water and apply that water on your underarms using cotton. Nowadays you get it in the market. You need not do anything. Just buy a bottle and apply it to your armpit before applying deodorant.

Use Lavender Oil
Lavender is known for its fragrance and so is lavender oil. It is an effective remedy. Pore a bit of lavender oil in your and massage your underarms with it. This helps in killing the bad smell from underarms.

Tomato Bath
Take few fresh tomatoes and crush them. Remove the pulp and collect all the tomato juice in a separate vessel. Add this juice to a bucket of water and take bath with that water.

Rub Lemon On Your Underarms
Cut a lemon into two halves. Rub each half on the either underarm for at least 5 minutes each. Leave it for 10 minutes and then take a shower.

Eucalyptus And Walnut Paste
Take few leaves of a walnut plant and eucalyptus. Crush them together to make a paste. Apply this paste to your underarms.


Eat Fresh And Smell Fresh
Food habits play a great role in making you smell great. Remember, everything we eat has a good or bad effect on our body odour. So, if you eat fresh and healthy food, you smell fresh. Including these food elements in your diet chart will help you in gaining a pleasant fragrance. These foods are:

Herbal Tea
Herbal tea or green tea has antioxidants in them. This helps in cleaning away the toxins from your body. So, sip herbal tea and eliminate bad odour from your body along with all the toxins.

Coconut Oil
One teaspoon of coconut oil every day will help detoxification of your body. Thus helping you to get rid of bad odour.

Parsley
Chop parsley finely and add it to 1 cup of boiling water. Add a pinch of salt to it and let it boil for few seconds. Turn off your stove and strain the water into a cup. Drink that water.

Juice of Wheatgrass
Add one teaspoon of wheatgrass juice in 100 ml of water and drink it.

Lemon And Tomatoes
Take a glass of skimmed water, add the juice of one lemon to it and drink it. Do this every day for three months. You can also drink a cup of fresh tomato juice.
